Birthed in the intense sunlight in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, Argentina, sits the Alamos vineyards of Mendoza. Cultivated by the Catena family for over 100 years and projected by Nicholas and Laura’s continued and fastidious vineyard work the past 20 years, have helped push the company into one of Argentina’s most famous estates.
Grown at an altitude between 3,000 - 5,000 feet, Mendoza's vineyards are among the highest in the world where the temperature fluctuations allow the grapes to grow slowly, helping to develop more flavour.
The continued tradition of handpicking grapes ensures the best quality grapes are used for the wine. Full of blackberries, dark cherries, currants and spices all create a fruitcake note to the wine, matching perfectly for a cool winter’s night and a classic steak or grilled sausages.
