Bindi Block 8 Pinot Noir 2020
Block 8 is a tiny ¾-hectare vineyard planted on a sheltered, north-west facing slope rich in quartz and fertile volcanic soils. As the eighth block established at Bindi, it enjoys a grandstand position mid-slope, with most of the site planted to 11,300 vines per hectare and a remarkable “Crazy” section at 22,600 vines per hectare across seven different clones.
The wines from this block have always stood out vibrant and delicious when young, yet proven to age gracefully for decades, right back to the very first Bindi Pinot in 1992. After 15–17 months in French oak (around 50% new), the Block 8 release shows incredible fruit depth, layered earthiness, and a structure that’s both powerful and refined. Intensely long and supremely ageworthy, it’s a wine that captures the essence of Bindi at its finest.
