Cat & Frank Chardonnay 2024

Cat & Frank Chardonnay 2024

A Chardonnay that speaks for itself. Debuting with 94 Points isn't something that you see everyday. Catia D'anna has made something special here under the guidance of her father Franco D'anna. The Cat & Frank Chardonnay 2024 being described as a 'Top class chardonnay' that you 'rarely see at this price point'.

Top class chardonnay usually costs a lot more than $30. This is a top class chardonnay, from the elite Upper Yarra sub-region of the Yarra Valley no less, with penetrating fruit flavours, almond notes, green olives and citrus, and the resultant length through the finish that you rarely see at this price level. It’s an excellent wine now but it will cellar well too. In short, this wine is an ultra easy Yes. 94 points.

Hers’s a quiet style of wine. It’s nutty, savoury and umami. Apple and melon rind, green olive, subtle oak. It’s light to medium-weight, saline with a subtle citrus tang, chalky texture, a sake-like flavour on a finish of good length, with green apple peel to close. Complex. Different. Excellent.  93 Points.

Tasting Notes: Fruit sourced from Upper Yarra, near the Woori Yallock district. The wine exhibits some citrus, grapefruit and white flower undertones. The palate is characterised by mineral tones, with a line of acidity and seasoned with second and third year oak. The wine exhibits balance and structure, with intensity and focus.
