Mouton Rothschild 2021 Magnum 1500mL

Mouton Rothschild 2021 Magnum 1500mL

Pauillac, 1er Grand Cru Classé

The 2021 Mouton Rothschild is a study in finesse and precision, offering a more restrained, classical expression of this iconic First Growth. In a cooler, challenging vintage, the château’s meticulous vineyard work and strict selection delivered a wine of purity, elegance, and signature Pauillac character.

Composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc, the wine opens with refined aromas of blackcurrant, graphite, cedar, and violets. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and layers of red and black fruit, tobacco leaf, and crushed stones. There’s less opulence than in warmer years, but greater transparency and aromatic lift.

Aged in 100% new French oak, the 2021 Mouton showcases remarkable poise and aging potential despite the vintage’s challenges — a testament to the terroir and the precision of its winemaking.
