Prieure-Lichine 2021

Margaux, 4ème Grand Cru Classé

Château Prieuré-Lichine is a celebrated Fourth Growth estate in the heart of Margaux, known for producing wines of elegance, balance, and aromatic finesse. Originally founded by Benedictine monks in the 12th century, the château gained new acclaim in the mid-20th century under the stewardship of Alexis Lichine, whose vision and passion helped shape the modern identity of the estate.

Today, Prieuré-Lichine’s 70 hectares of gravelly soils are planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc contributing nuance and depth. The wine is quintessential Margaux—layered and perfumed, with cassis, violet, cedar and graphite on the nose, and a silky, finely structured palate that carries through to a long, mineral-laced finish.

Modern in polish but true to its terroir, Château Prieuré-Lichine is a benchmark for Margaux at its most refined. Approachable in its youth but capable of graceful aging.
