A classic, approachable Barolo from one of Piedmont’s most respected traditional producers. The 2017 vintage of Balbi Soprani Barolo is made entirely from Nebbiolo, delivering lifted aromas of dried rose petals, red cherry, tar and subtle earthy notes.
On the palate, it’s medium-bodied yet structured, with firm tannins wrapped around bright red berry fruit, hints of licorice and a savoury, lingering finish. Aged in large Slavonian oak casks to preserve varietal purity, this is an authentic expression of the Langhe hills — elegant now but with the depth to reward careful cellaring.
Pair it with truffle dishes, braised meats or mature cheeses to bring out its full character.
